You Can Influence the PGA Championship’s Outcome

In 2013, the PGA Championship introduced a creative way to allow the fans to influence the outcome of the tournament. No, they weren’t allowed to vote on who should win, but they could choose the hole location for the 15th hole at Oak Hill.

Seeing as the idea was so great, the PGA decided to bring it back this year. This time for the 16th hole at Valhalla.

I give you, the “Pick the Hole Location Challenge,” hosted by none other than Valhalla-designer, Jack Nicklaus.

All four of the locations span the outer part of the green, leaving no easy options for fans to vote on. And to make the challenge even sweeter, fans can “play” each hole location virtually, thanks to WGT.

Here are the choices:

The 16th hole, of course, is where Tiger Woods famously walked in his birdie putt on the first of a three-hole playoff with Bob May. He’d go on to win the playoff, claiming his second consecutive Wanamaker Trophy.

So be a part of history and go vote. It’s your duty as a golf fan. But remember, “with great power comes great responsibility.”
