Now that Doc Rivers and the Clippers have finally reached an agreement for the former Celtics skipper to take over as head coach in Los Angeles, he’ll need a few golf course recommendations to get acclimated to the area.
Here are three of the best country clubs and golf courses in or around the LA area.
Hillcrest Country Club – Located 12 miles from the home of the Clippers, Hillcrest Country Club is a private facility that boasts some of the nicest golf course views in the Los Angeles area. Privacy is at a premium for this place, so Doc can rest assured that he will have all the time and seclusion he needs to forget about his next loss to the Lakers.
Mountain Gate Country Club – Coined as Los Angeles’ premier golf and lifestyle club, Mountain Gate CC redefines the country club experience. With 27 championship holes and an outstanding array of amenities that includes a tennis club, lavish locker rooms and one hell of a practice tee, Rivers will be hard pressed to find a better place to escape when not on the hardwood.
Riveria Country Club – Home to the Northern Trust Open on the PGA Tour, Riviera CC has yielded past champions such as Tom Watson, Nick Faldo, Fred Couples, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead and Phil Mickelson. However, there is a super-strict cell phone policy on the grounds, so Rivers will have to think twice about calling Blake Griffin while on the course.
