Course developers have officially broken ground in Houston, marking the beginning of construction on Tiger Woods’ first U.S.-based golf course.
According to the Houston Business Journal, what will eventually become Bluejack National sits on 755 acres and will include an 18-hole championship golf course, practice facilities, a practice course deemed “The Playgrounds,” a housing community and an indoor-outdoor recreation center.
The construction project is headed by Houston-based Jones & Carter, Inc., and is being built on top of what was once Blaketree National Golf Club.
This is not the first time Woods has shown his creative hand at golf course design. Tiger Woods Design – his golf course architecture firm – is already designing and constructing courses in Cabo San Lucas, Punta Brava and Dubai. Another North American project, The Cliffs of High Carolina in North Carolina, is still in the planning stages and should begin construction in the near future.
