You’ve probably never gone to a baseball stadium with the intention of playing golf. But that’s about to change. The Toledo Mud Hens, Triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, decided to make good use of their outfield turf during the offseason and install a miniature golf course.
The grounds crew is cutting the 18-hole layout in the outfield grass at the Mud Hens’ Fifth Third Stadium, which will be open to the public from Sept. 25-28.
The course will be flat, but challenging. According to the Mud Hens website, the front nine will feature “a lot of angles, dog legs, and sand traps,” while the 17th hole ends up on the pitcher’s mound.
“I always thought it would be interesting to see a natural grass putt-putt course,” Jake Tyler, Sports Turf Manager, said. “The timing is perfect to create this once in a lifetime opportunity for our community.”
And, like any golf course, you have to call ahead and make a tee time. So be sure to do so.

Admission is $15, and each player will receive a souvenir “The Links at Fifth Third Field” golf ball.
